Effective January 2, 2026, instead of two set clean-up dates each year, you may now bring your load ANY TIME and ANY DAY during regular business hours:
Monday – Friday 8:30a-4:00p
1st Saturday of each month 9:00a-1:00p
Please continue to bring in your canned food donations! We have a cart in front of our office for collection all year
HOW IT WORKS:
Each household may use this option two times per year.
Check in at the office upon arrival to declare your clean up load(s)
Each household is limited to one load of garbage and one load of yard waste (both must be brought on the same day).
This service is for UP Refuse residential customers only that are up-to-date on their payment.
CLEAN UP RULES:
Limit: One load per household for garbage, one load for yard waste
Secure and cover all loads. Let’s keep our city clean!
Children & pets must remain in vehicles
Photo ID and office check-in required
No liquids, paint, or hazardous waste (car batteries OK)
Pickup-size loads only (no box trucks/oversized trucks)
Dump trailers must be hand-offloaded (unless yard waste)
No regular household garbage (save that for your curbside carts)
Residential loads only – NO commercial loads
Maximum item size: 5 ft (except for appliances/furniture)
No fuel tanks, enclosed barrels, or drums (water heaters and propane tanks OK)
